With all the bad press that payday loans have gotten, why would anyone choose to use them? Some of the advantages of payday advance loans over traditional bank loans are speed and convenience. Some of the disadvantages over mainstream lending tools are a limit on the amount borrowed, and a high interest rate.

With gasoline, and nearly everything else, costing more and more each month, sometimes financial
emergencies arise. Your available cash might already be committed to other purposes. In order to
obtain cash fast, borrowers can turn to loan stores offering these payday advances. These loans are essentially cash advances that you receive quickly, which you are required to repay when you receive your next paycheck. The interest on the cash advance must be repaid at the same time as the capital.

If you are certain that you can repay the paycheck cash advance when it is due, as well as any other bills that come due at the same time, then an advance loan might be right for you. On the other hand, if you are certain you could not possibly repay your cash advance on the date of your next paycheck, you are better off borrowing money from friends or maybe even using a credit card cash advance. Don't dig yourself deeper in debt by obtaining a paycheck loan that you cannot repay. It will only cost you more, literally, and hurt your credit score.

If repaying a cash advance loan on your next payday is not a problem, you can apply for the loan.
When you complete the loan application, you will have to provide proof that you have a regular
income stream. Because you have to repay the money advanced on your next pay period, the lender will want to know how often, and how much, you are regularly paid.

The payday lender will probably require that you have a valid checking account. In most areas, the
account must be at least four months old. This may serve several purposes: to establish that you
have been in the area at least four months, as a place for your loan money to be deposited if done
by direct deposit, and as collateral on the loan if you have trouble paying it back. The payday
loan store can provide more information on this requirement.

Borrowers must be of legal age to enter into a contract, which is 18 years old in most U.S. states.
Otherwise, such contracts are non-binding and both parties might get into legal trouble.

Don't expect to borrow lots of money. Most states cap the maximum amount available via a payday cash advance to between $500 and $1000. Your local lending store can tell you what the maximum amount of capital that you can borrow is.

These cash advances can be granted very quickly, sometimes as fast as hours or even minutes.
However, the lender is taking a risk by loaning money based on limited information. That's why the
interest rates are higher, such as 15% to 30% (or even higher).

Most loans mature and become due in years or decades. Paycheck loans are due in weeks or even days!  It is easy to miss the repayment date because it comes so quickly, so be sure to write it down.

There are both advantages and disadvantages to using these fast, convenient, and expensive cash
advances. If you need emergency cash and are certain of your ability to repay it on your next
payday, you might consider payday loans as a temporary financial crutch.
